Sheepless recently co-sponsored a screening of the ground-breaking, eye-opening documentary "The Greenhorns" with The Loft at UCSD and UCSD Earth Week. Directed by Severine von Tscharner Fleming, and grown out of a grassroots non-profit organization of the same name, the film's mission is to recruit, promote and support the new generation of young farmers in this ample and able 21st century America.

If you read food blogs, you might not be surprised (as I was) by how charmingly written some of them are. It seems a great many misbegotten writers have found a way to revive their talent by cataloguing what they ate for dinner. And, between the recipes, many of them make interesting notes on culture, politics, and science--all food-related, naturally. No matter how pithy the blog post, it always centers around a toothsome image of the dish in question, contours caressed by delicate mood lighting.

In August of 2009, Juan Miron happened upon a magazine feature about the growing trend of hot food trucks in major US cities. "I thought to myself, 'This is it.
